You guys beat me to it...$2.29 from $2.09 here today. :irked: It was hovering ~1.99 the past month or so. Plus, I also saw a headline earlier today that crude hide $54 a barrel after the recent good economic news.

Yikes. I haven't passed a gas station since yesterday so it's probably gone up here too. The only good thing about not having a job at the moment is not having fill a suburban with gas every two weeks.

The price point last year when *******s stopped driving like *******s (or maybe the *******s just stopped driving?) was somewhere north of $3.50/gal. That was the only good thing about the meteoric rise in pump prices last year.
Too much. I paid $2.97 at one of the cheapest stations (Global) in town.

Now that my commute has changed, I don't see the stations I used to, but we went for flu shots this AM and I saw a range of $2.19 to $2.30 in a ~5 mile radius on the NW side. :saywhat:

Check out this interactive map. Back all that way out and look at the entire country. There's nearly a $1/gallon difference between Missouri and the West Coast or NY state. Parts of Indiana an Ohio are pretty low as well. Not so much around here where we are paying a 50% premium.

not that I'm complaining, mind you, as I'm in the middle of that terrific green section, but I wonder why Missouri has cheaper gas than everywhere else?

The Mississippi River and barges make for cheap ride from the refineries around New Orleans. The gas tax is likely lower as well. The lowest price in my zip code is $2.75.

Just so everyone is on notice, the Saudi's want to be paid even if you stop buying their oil.

Two weeks ago it was $2.16, and it jumped to $2.49 this past week. :saywhat: Of course that was when the local news stations were reporting how much the price of ga$ had fallen. :irked:

As the price slowly creeps back up to $3.00/gal, I hear anecdotal evidence that morons are getting into bidding wars over big SUV's again.
Speaking of SUV's, I was tailgated and passed aggressively by a lady driving a Prius on I465. My wife and I just burst out laughing.
I was doing 55-60 in a 45 (construction zone) matching the flow of traffic in the right lane.
I have noticed that when gas prices are higher, SUV drivers are more annoyingly slow at stoplights and so forth.
Getting behind a pack of SUV's and minivan's on 465 is a nightmare.

My impression is that all the wankers that used to drive BMWs, now drive a Prius. They are some of the worst drivers out there.

Here we go again...up to $2.99 here. It's bounced b/w $2.60 something and $2.85 the past couple of months, and then shot up to $2.99 last last week. Oil @ a 2-year high @ $87. :(

LONDON (AP) -- Mounting concerns over Libya's violent crisis weighed on stocks Tuesday and sent oil prices surging, while the earthquake in the New Zealand city of Christchurch pushed the country's currency sharply lower.
With deep rifts opening up in Moammar Gadhafi's regime, air force pilots defecting and a bloody crackdown in the capital of Tripoli, investors are fretting over how the crisis will end and what the impact on the North African country's oil production will be.
Libya is the world's 18th largest oil producer, pumping out around 1.8 million barrels a day, or a little under 2 percent of global daily output. The OPEC country also sits atop the biggest oil reserves in the whole of Africa.
With so much uncertainty surrounding a large chunk of the world's daily oil production, market prices surged. Benchmark crude for March delivery was up $6.35 a barrel, or 7.4 percent, at $92.55 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange

P.S. In case anyone else was wondering.
Definition: arvo
One of the many words that Australians have cut syllables off and replaced with "-o". This one represents the hours after 12pm, and is used by people, myself included, who can't be bothered saying "-fternoon".
"Hey Davo, I'm goin' to the servo for arvo smoko."
Translation: David, I'm going to the service station to purchase some food for the afternoon break.
