I'll bet it went like this:

HVM dumps Bremer because he has no money and they need money.

HVM sign Sperafico for the rest of season with money, but his deal is conditional on it being for the rest of the year.

Bremer gets his money lined up, but it is conditional on being with a historically decent team, specifically HVM. The money wouldn't apply for Coyne - plus he's contracted to HVM anyway so its up to them.

Coyne signs Bremer (with HVM's consent) who is fast and has more races this year than anyone else he's used to fill Servia's seat.

HVM talsk to Bremer's sponsors and they agree to wait and run the full'06 season - putting all teh rumours to rest and lockign up a talent the want to keep.
