According to Autosport, it's a done deal for 2006... Toyota in 2007, though.

Well, this'll be an interesting litmus test if it's true. If any of the other Cosworth customers start beating Williams it's going to tell us something about chassis design. If Williams suddenly starts getting racy, then that'll tell us (and Mr. Theissen) something about BMW F-1 engines.
Sounds to me like a good deal for Cosworth. A good season with Williams should drive their desirability right up.
Now, if somebody could PLEASE figure out a way to take one of those V-8 engines and turn one bank into a 1400cc inline 4-cylinder for a motorcycle application, I'd REALLY appreciate it.

Probably won't be any other Cosworth customers... other than Minardi, and they'll be using the V10 with the revs turned down.

If Williams is going to Cosworth for only 1 year, would it not be prudent and cheaper to stick with the their V-10?

Williams is probably very well advanced on a chassis predicated on the dimensions and weight of a V8. Sticking with a V10 would put them even further behind for 2007.

It's been made quite clear by Max that the V10 would not be allowed to be competitive... the rev limits will be decided to make sure of it.

It's going to be fun to watch what happens.
