...with a buddy of his, who I don't know. $100 on the line. He told me about it tonight. The bet is (my buddy's side) that Katherine Legge would win a Champ Car race before Danica wins in the eerierl. I reminded him that Katherine thinks she would be better served if she raced another year in Atlantics next year. My buddy's reply was "I know."
What do you think? Was it a good bet? May not pay off till '07 or '08. I said to bank it, but I'm biased you know...

Bad bet. Danica can win any flat-out superspeedway race if the setup is right.
Two words, "The Call."
Hoover will get a win because the IRL can't afford to let her slip off the PR radar.
Yep. He's betting that Tony George won't put his thumb on the scale. Bad bet.
I can't imagine a ChampCar race anywhere that Legge would be more likely to win than Danica lucking into (or otherwise) one of those crashfests. Not likely to happen. But, hey, that's what bets are for. We might have an answer as early as tomorrow! Maybe we can bet on Danica's spot at the end of lap...5?

I didn't consider TG's thumb. You're right. Bad bet.
I think he was betting with his heart rather than his brain. I'll tell him you said that, nrc. I'll bet you ten bucks he slaps his own forehead when he realizes what he has done.

Legge may win, Danicle will never win. She will join Sarah on the IRL scrap heap. Hopefully she will be forced into retirement when Uncle Rahole's splooge takes root and results in a hideous love child.
i wouldn't bet on legge.
legge would have to beat bourdais, tracy, ranger, dinger, j. wilson, oriol, damatta... on a grueling road or street course
danica has to beat scott sharp, alex barron, jaques lazier, etc.. on a 1.5-mile cookie cutter oval.
legge has the harder task in front of her (win in CCWS).

Danicle will never win.
If she is ever going to win, this weekend might be it.
She is on rain-induced pole having lead the practice sessions

I predict a courageous charge to mid pack by lap 20.
