New Grandstands at the Glen

When I arrived at the Glen this weekend I was happy and sad to see an old friend.

The grandstands coming down at Nazareth are being moved to the frontstretch at the Glen. From the top row you can almost see the entire track.

They sold it out so I presume they will bring more up and extend it further down towards T1.

At least they weren't sold to China as scrap.

It somehow seems fitting that the series supposed to "bring back the ovals" will be road-racing in front of a mostly empty grandstand from a shut-down oval.

Something tells me that the irony will be lost on the IRL apologistas.

I hadn't thought of that as I was literally sitting in the seat where I saw more than a dozen CART races. Irony.
