Not rebuilding the Toyota 4A-GE every 15 minutes will save substantial money. The chassis itself isn't any cheaper I don't think and may in fact be more expensive.

Its a better spec but I think their estimate of $500k is a joke. Look for closer to $750-800k to be even remotely competitive, $1mil to run up front.

I hope to be proven wrong bit I don't see how front running budgets are going to be slashed without major cost containment rules. Ask the guys in Star Mazda who are being outspent by 2x because they haven't brought their car to a 7 post rig or a wind tunnel.
