Transocean is reporting that the Deepwater Nautilus is adrift.
The rig was evacuated before the storm but its transponder signal is now moving. This is no small piece of equipment:

I read a report on CNN that two rigs are reportedly adrift. :(

I wonder how BP's $1 Billion Dollar Thunderhorse rig is doing?
The cat 3 hurricane earlier this year that hit Pensacola did a number on it. Since it is 150 miles SE of New Orleans, I bet this storm really put a hurting on it. Hopefully they were able to make repairs and implement a fix from the last storm or I would bet that Thunderhorse might be the newest fishing reef.

T7, last news I heard was that they had uprighted it and had sealed the breech. I don't know any news after this latest storm. Initial cause was human error!!
I wouldn't want to be the guy that left the hatch open!
I wonder if they gave him a job at the cracking plant in Texas City? :gomer:

I suspect he is no longer employed at BP. They sure have taken their hits lately.

Heard he was the new director of safety withg the IRL, LOL J/K, DON'T HAVE A HEART A STROKE ON ME.
Can you imagine the gas / fuel prices if a rig goes down right now? Outa this world, I'd say $4.0 easy.

be more worried about refinery capacity

Yeah. I like when they shut down refineries then raise prices because they can't refine enough crude. Oil companies rule!

I hope it ends up in Lake Michigan. Finders keepers.
Charge you chumps through the nose, I will!
