I'm guessing a few kegs are going to be consumed tonight in Ada. (We might even flip a couple cars!)

That was one incredible streak.

It's an Ohio thing. Mount Union has been the DIII foosball champ 6 of the past 10 years.

SI names Ohio Northern its Team of the Week (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writers/stewart_mandel/10/23/weekend.rewind/1.html)

Imagine for a second if USC's current winning streak had begun not in 2003, but in 1994. Now imagine if someone beat the Trojans. That's pretty much the equivalent to what the Division III Polar Bears accomplished Saturday when they ended Mount Union's mind-boggling, 110-game regular-season winning streak with a 21-14 victory. Comparing I-A and D-III dynasties may be like comparing apples and oranges -- for one thing, D-III has a playoff, which Mount Union won seven times during its streak -- but the two teams' conference, the Ohio Athletic Conference, is annually considered one of the two strongest leagues in Division III. It has consistently placed multiple teams in the national rankings and playoffs (including Ohio Northern in 1999 and 2000). And yet for 11 years, none of those teams could manage to beat the Purple Raiders ... until Saturday.

"Throughout the recruiting process, we've always told people that we're going to be the ones to do it," Ohio Northern coach Dean Paul, himself a former Mount Union player, said Sunday. "I guess now there's evidence."
