Newman/Haas Racing clinches the ChampCar Team Championship! There is still a fight between RuSport and Forsythe for 2nd place while PKV, Rocketsports, Team Australia, and HVM battle for 4th place.
Here is the "mythical" ChampCar World Series Team Championship standings after round twelve (12) at Gold Coast - Surfers Paradise, Queensland Australia.
1 Newman/Haas Racing, 645 pts., 8 wins
2 RuSPORT, 430 (-215), 1 win
3 Forsythe Championship Racing, 410 (-235), 2 wins
4 PKV Racing, 330 (-315), 1 win
5 Rocketsports Racing, 300 (-345)
6 Team Australia Racing, 296 (-349)
7 HVM, Inc., 268 (-377)
8 Mi-Jack Conquest Racing, 227 (-418)
9 Dale Coyne Racing, 223 (-422)
10 Walker Team Australia II, 6 (-639)
11 Jensen Motorsport, 5 (-640)
12 PKV Team Mexico, 3 (-642)
Note:
The following is a suggested ammendment to the Champ Car rule book related to a Team Championship.
7.3.4. Team Championship Cup.
7.3.4a. Eligibility: The Team Championship Cup is open to all teams who compete in the Champ Car World Series.
7.3.4b. Qualification: The team designated shall be determined by the official entry list for each race as published. Changes in driver lineup that may occur during the season will not cause a new entry in the Team Championship Cup.
7.3.4c. Point System: Each team will score the same number of points as are scored by the driver (Refer to 7.1. herein) of their two highest placed cars to be listed in the official results of each race in the Champ Car World Series.
Clarification:
Points awarded to team are from the driver points earned while driver was with the team (maximum of two-cars earning points per team). If a team enters three cars in any event, only the top two point earning drivers of that team are calculated for the team championship.

For those who like the old championship point structure (CART pre-2002), here is what the ChampCar Team Championship results would look like if the same point rules were applied.
1 Newman/Haas Racing, 364 pts., 8 wins
2 RuSPORT, 196 (-168), 1 win
3 Forsythe Championship Racing, 190 (-174), 2 wins
4 PKV Racing, 130 (-234), 1 win
5 Team Australia Racing, 95 (-269)
6 Rocketsports Racing, 90 (-274)
7 HVM, Inc., 67 (-297)
8 Dale Coyne Racing, 55 (-309)
9 Mi-Jack Conquest Racing, 49 (-315)
10 Jensen Motorsports, 0 (-364)
10 PKV Team Mexico, 0 (-364)
10 Walker Team Australia II, 0 (-364)
