Twenty-one year old Brandi Latimer from Caldeon, Ontario Canada edged out four other finalists to earn the opportunity to be the "Face of Champ Car." As part of her prize for winning, Latimer will receive a $10,000 appearance contract from Champ Car and fly to at least five Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford events and serve as an ambassador of the series during its three day festivals of speed.
"I'm very excited to be the 'Face of Champ Car,' said Latimer. "First representing my home race as Miss Molson Indy Toronto and now being able to represent the entire Champ Car paddock is really a dream come true for me."
FACE of Champcar? Yeah, that's what everyone will be looking at for sure.

I explained this to many people already. I grew up watching Champ Car, and Michael Andretti was the first driver I got a chance to meet and talk to. Unfortunately after the split, Andretti had some terrible things to say, and thats why I stopped watching him. He still is, to me, an amazing DRIVER. I, however, have never brought myself to watch an IRL race. I was just being honest. Watching Champ Car for ten years should be enough to prove my passion for the series, and what I can potentially bring to it.
Let's hear about that Da Matta pic. He looked a bit, well, "tired". :)

I haven't really started any duties as the FOCC yet. So far, I have just been answering emails and phone calls from the press. Are you asking in terms of my usual day as a normal girl, (because thats all I am;)...or, are you asking in terms of the official duties of the FOCC?

That's an interesting perspective. Perhaps some review is in order though. In 1998, well after the 'split', here's what Mikey the lesser had to say about king Tony and the 'league'. (http://www.enquirer.com/editions/1998/05/11/indy11.html)
"(Indy) is not a real race anymore," CART driver Michael Andretti said recently. "Really, the tradition and everything has been destroyed there."
Nothing 'terrible' about that, just the truth. Still is. Unfortunately, a few years on and Mikey decided that whoring himself out was more important than any history or tradition or sense of responsibility to his families' name and legacy. That's rather revolting, son't you think? Link. (http://www.canoe.ca/Slam021026/col_mcnulty-sun.html)
For Andretti -- roundly criticized for his plans to move his team to the IRL -- it finally came down to dollars.
As in the IRL was attracting more sponsor and marketing dollars and he wanted to be on the receiving end.
"You had to start paying real attention to where marketing dollars were going to go," Andretti said.
He said he had to see only that Honda -- which will be a major backer of his Andretti-Green Racing -- and Toyota would find new ways to spend their promotional dollars after the two manufacturers announced they were leaving CART.
"The manufacturers' support in the IRL brings with it marketing dollars," he said. "You have got to look at swing here. You are going from CART that had maybe $30 million to $40 million US to spend in marketing money (from Honda and Toyota) ... to not having that and the IRL gaining that. That's almost a $60-million to $80-million swing in marketing dollars."
Andretti said that kind of money brings lots of attention.
"And that's what it is," he said. "If that kind of money is being used to market the series then that's where fan interest is going to come from."
Andretti even considers it more important than fan identification with auto manufacturers' brands.
Nice to see that it hasn't worked out at all like he thought it would going earling, but I'm sure he doesn't care that the 'league' has no fans, he's getting his yen. He is a revolting, disgusting, reprehensible scumbag.
Regardless, you may want to revise your timeline, as the 'terrible' things didn't come about until he started his earl cheerleading.
And congratulations. :saywhat:
Welcome Brandi,I've got a question, are they really that big, they look huge,it's just not natural having such big ones, they don't look real in the photo.

Eh, wasn't an 'attack' so much as wanting you to understand that a lot of us have a very different view of that individual. If you are to represent Champ Car it would be good to have a thorough understanding of some, er, 'issues', especially when it comes to speaking about certain characters that have aligned themselves with king Tony's 'league'.

The Toronto Champ Car race is better off now...we all saw it coming...
Toronto is one of the strongest locations for a Champ Car race to be held. It just needs the right people running it. This year Toronto had roughly 167,000 fans at the race. For 2006 I predict 200,000 due to the new take-over. Way to go Champ Car!
Molson is still going to be a part of the Champ Car race in Toronto.

We know the feeling.
That's the sad thing about all the politics in open wheel racing these days - a lot of folks have had their heros turn out to be "businessmen" making "business decisions" that just happen to involve betraying the fans who admired them for years. For us it was Bobby Rahal.
But that's behind us now. Now Champ car has new leadership and is making great strides in regaining it's former glory. You've got an exciting year ahead.

Does not make sense, Anywhere in Europe does not make sense unless a promoter is will to drop a huge check in CC's lap and pay for travel expenses. which would probably be double digits in total.
It would probably be coupled with another european event to get two for one, and that has double the chances of not happening.
