OK, I had high hopes for this list so I've got to say I was a bit disappointed, yet there are a few with potential.
10 most dangerous toys (http://money.cnn.com/2005/11/17/news/midcaps/dangerous_toys/index.htm?cnn=yes)

My top picks...

Geospace International's 38" Air Kicks Kickaroos Anti-Gravity Boots which fit over shoes and help children bounce around. The manufacturer instructs users to "always remain in control of your motions," but some feel that directive is, um, unrealistic... "Dude, your little sister looks headed for geo-synchronous orbit..."

The Camouflage Water Bomb Fun Kit from Pioneer Worldwide -- a slingshot capable of forcefully firing water bombs. Family pets and little brothers are advised to take an extended vacation should one of these beauties make an appearance at your house.

The Lord of the Rings - Return of the King Uruk-Hai Crossbow set which catapults arrows at high velocity. OK, now were talking, retrofit some razor sharp broadheads and step up to a serious felony.

The rest are a total bore and only made the list because really small kids could swallow them or hit themselves over the head with them.

Not surprisingly, I have a few suggestions of my own...

Sgt. Gonzo flamethrower $24.99. This is a great multi-tasker for kids. Take out some weeds for mom, light the grill for dad in seconds, then torch that lemonade stand that moved in on your turf and let the competition know exactly who they are dealing with.... Propane tanks sold seperately.
Flamethrower with turbo blaster and peizo igniter (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Category.taf?CategoryID=467&pricetype=S)

Love Canal Chemical Waste Identification Kit $12.99 for 5 gallons. This is a great way to let the kids learn how to identify toxic wastes and it's also great for those hobby chemotherapists on your list.

Thunderbird Atlatl prehistoric spear thrower $159.00 complete with 6 darts. Teach your kids about murder in the paleolithic era first hand. This authentic device will let them throw a 6ft. long dart at speeds up to 100mph and distances of nearly 100yrds. Able to take down everything from a rabbit to a woolly mammoth. High performance carbon fiber darts available for extra charge.
* Note: Prehistoric looking woman in fake leopard skin outfit not included.

When the wife asks what I want I'll need only point her to this thread.

Sounds like some really good stuff, though I wish lawn darts and 3 wheel ATV's hadn't been banned.

Pfft, don't waste your money. :p When I was a kid, I found plenty of ingredients on and around our abandoned workbench in the basement. Hours of mixing entertainment.

Truly a wonder I didn't blow myself up. Or destroy any brain cells...although, hm, might explain a few things...

Of course the real irony is that current reality is even weirder than the most over the top satire back in the day. :D
