Larry qualified 44th quickest out of 45 cars (boy I bet Jack Sprague who was slower is feeling pretty inadequate right now) and will miss the race at Bristol. He is yet to make a race on time this season and didn't have near enough points to get a provisional this time. And because he dnq'd for the second time this year and is yet to score a top 30 finish, you can bet your darn tootin' he won't have enough points to get any more provisionals either.

But AJ dun wun Indy 4 times so he can't be criticized in any way and if ol' AJ thinks his boy is good enough for Cup, then dang gummit he must be cuz AJ dun said so.

Foyt IV was 11MPH off the pace in the first practice session today. In the second, the team decided to park the car because he was having problems.

Did I mention that both Phoenix and Bristol are driver's tracks?
