finally.
That is all. Now back to your normal ineptitude that is the Lions.
My brother's a Lions fan and I agree with him, the ax should've gone a little higher, Millen should've been fired as well.

Not a Lion fan, but I have to admit I feel badly for the guy. I played ball with him in college (he was a great DivII quaterback and assistant coach, I was not) and he's a good guy and great husband and father. TO and poorly managed salary cap never gave him a chance in SF. Taking the job in Detroit seemed like suicide but it go him closer to his buddy Izzo and home.
At least he now have something like $25 million in the bank and will land a decent college job. Maybe he should be feeling badly for me. :gomer:
Bring back Marty! Bring back Marty! :gomer:
How much longer can Millen last? Does he have naked pictures of Bill Ford's wife or what?!? Matt Millen = the Douger Mac of the NFL. :gomer:

Heck, the way John L's fortunes are going, he may land the foosball job @ MSU after next season.

"If we'd had production on offense, in particular the quarterback position, Mooch wouldn't have been fired," Bly told the Detroit Free Press. "If Jeff Garcia hadn't gotten hurt, we wouldn't be in this position today. Mooch wouldn't have gotten fired."
"We're all at fault, but I just feel like Joey [Harrington]'s been here four years, and being the No. 3 pick in the draft, he hasn't given us anything," Bly told the paper. "He hasn't given us what the third pick in the draft should give us."
Joey Heisman getting called out by Dre Bly

Throw in your conscience and your sense of decency and you've got a deal.

you've met me choppy..... you think I have those things? ;)
Ughh...now you have Jauronstadt as your coach (our name for the uninspiring duo of Jauron and Wanstadt).
At least Wanny could fall back on a career as male porno star. That moustache... rowr ;)
wanny....
he's so lucky he got to ride Jimmie Johnson's coattails for so long
Jimmie Johnson... that hair... rowr ;)
Seriously though, I feel for our brethren in NFC North land. :( And I don't see the Bears going far in the playoffs.
DM, you should cut your losses and find a new team. I guess Canadian football is done for the season though. I forget who won the Grey Cup. Was it the Ice Wrigglers or the Yellow Snow Mounters?

The 'mos won in an OT thriller. All twelve fans in attendance were thrilled. ;)

As an old NFC Central guy, when was the last time the Lions were a factor? Has it been that long or is it just the Alzheimers?

You've forgotten the halcyon days of Scott Mitchell, Herman Moore, Johnny Morton and Barry Sanders? (And Erik Kramer before the Bears got him).
That was about 1982, I think. :D

IIRC, they made the NFC championship in the early 90s ('91?) during the Sanders and Chris Spielman era.
EDIT: Bingo!

12-4 in '91 under Fontes. Skins beat 'em up pretty bad in the championship game as I recall.
