Funniest quote ever. This is the kind of thing I always say right before my wife kicks my ass.

Sadly trevor, Nick and I won't be going. :(

I left my work last month and decided today I am short a few frequent flyer miles to justify it in my temporarily smaller budget.

You guys enjoy.

Long time lurker here....

Haven't missed ChampCars at RA yet and I'm not about to start now.

I'll be dining at the CARA deal on Friday and then on to the T2 party.

We have a rented RV, probably park in T8 unless is looks like a really wet weekend. In that case we'll seek higher ground along the Moraine Sweep. If you spot our CruiseAmerica RV stop in and redeem this post for (at least one) a beer.

Looking forward to meeting you all in person. I did party with some of you in '04 (thanks to a certain Norwegian gentlemen) but for some strange reason my memory of that weekend isn't so good.

I am out. The week spent in hospital last week has put the kybosh on any plans I might have had to get out and be sociable... I am just not up to it.

I nominate Twisty to pick up the slack for me. I am sure he will do an admirable job! :D

A friend has an extra ticket if anyone needs it. $85

Kiwifan
09-19-06, 05:51 AM
Only $85? Does it come with free air travel? If so, will I be able to get back in time for Surfers? :)

Ah you guys go on and have a blast without me. One day I'll make. 'Twas the first race I ever saw Champ Cars run (other than old black and white Indy 500s) and I fell in love that day. Seriously.

Take care, party on. :)

Rusty.

Well, it's nice here on the coast (81 degrees), whereas I just checked Yahoo! Weather and it's 52 degrees in Elkhart Lake right now! I ran out and bought an appropriate jacket.

Boarding the airport shuttle at 4:30 am tomorrow; looking forward to meeting everyone!

Okay, so ... I'll be there, obviously. Got stuff to do Thursday and Sunday nights. Friday and Saturday nights could be free. Bunked up at the Osthoff, and have peeps camping Friday and Saturday nights, so I'll be at the track at least.

Where can I stop by to meet people (or for those of you who double at CCF, get punched in the face)? :tony:

If anyone wants to stop by we will be in a 1978 *vintage* Itastca Motorhome. White with orange strips. Someplace around turn 8/Snap On Bridge. There should be a mint green toyota corolla near it with a UWSP sticker in the back window. We'll have s'mores going and some nice cold wisconsin beverages for anyone who stops by.

Hey Ed I'm volunteering in tech that weekend. Get to wear one of the "fashionable orange shirts." I'll also have plum colored hair so that might make me a bit easier to spot! But please, don't punch a lady. ;)

Gosh there's so many of us going I'll probably walk past some of you guys and have no clue who you are!

No no no ... I'll not be punching anyone, much less a lady. ;) It would not surprise me if a few of the folks at CCF would like to take a swing at me, though ... I'm very popular there.

I promise to be gentle with the volunteers this weekend.

Is this your first race volunteering, or have you done this before?

This is my first race volunteering. I've watched Jen Savage do it for a few years so I won't be completely out of the loop. I'm really excited about doing it! Never been so close to a "hot track" before.

Hope you all had a blast.

^ Good luck with that. A race isn't all that important.

If you see any spare livers laying around while you're there - grab one for me. I think I broke mine.

Oops, never saw this last year. Long story short: It was a utero-pelvic obstruction that was not previously diagnosed. They ran a number of tests and determined a stent probably wouldn't restore functionality and the kidney needed to come out. It was only functioning at 4%. Urologist/surgeon leaves me a 30 second voice mail to inform me of this. :shakehead

Had it removed laparoscopically in November and, other than a minor setback with some internal bleeding, the recovery went fine.

Ready for '07.
