View Full Version : New Atlantic Driver?
Ryan Lewis, British F-3...tested well with both Conquest and Brooks. Glowing reports. He says "The ladder is shorter here." :)
AND Sierra Sierra just announced Raphael Matos as one of their drivers. Has to be an instant favorite to grab the big prize. If he wins or does very well I can see this team as one that wants to move up to ChampCar in '07. Same with Polestar and Legge. A guy like Rahal could stay another season easily and break into Champcars at 19. Legge is 25, Matos 24. Yes folks, the future is looking much brighter from the ground up. An Atlantic grid this season "in the upper 30s"-Steve Johnson and a ChampCar field of 22-26 by '07 or '08?

Sierra Sierra has always been a top team and they usually go after a the best driver they can get. And they got one of the best around.
Sierra Sierra also snapped up the best Atlantics Engineer around.
They are my pick for the championship.
Robbie Pecorari, #2 to Matos in Star Mazda has said he's in for this season. THAT should make for a nice continuing rivalry. No team announced though.
Dear Sam Schmidt, PLEASE get Jay Howard into the Atlantic series full-time and if you can run the HRL road courses and a sane oval or two, fine, but get this guy the background he deserves!
Or, you could test him for the IPS at TMS. :shakehead
