Made visits to Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech (which pretty much cemented my refusal to live in that little corner of hell they call Blacksburg) just for fun, but my decision was made about, oh, 15 years before I applied anywhere.

I couldn't make a 9:00 "intro to ancient greece" lib-arts blowoff that was no more than 150-200 yards away, within the dorm next door, 1st sem. Showed up 2 hours late to the final. :gomer:

good thing I learned everything in that class back in HS and the prof made it easier than a HS course so the final took all of 20 mins for me, then it was back to sleeping in, 150 yards away, back in my warm bed :D
