View Full Version : Where is Franklin Ratliff???
Anybody remember this guy from 7G days? Check this (http://forums.hotrod.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=generaldiscussion&Number=81935&page=1&fpart=1) out.
Apparently he has built a prop driven car. Um, need I say more? Anyway, blast from the past.
Oh god, I'm never going to get those wasted minutes back into my life. DON"T READ THE FORUM OVER THERE!
Franklin is arguing about SCTA rules and how they are arbitrary and not based on engineering principles. The guy that built a PROP-DRIVEN dragster says this.
Beautiful!

Steel tube embedded in composite construction...? No prop shroud...? Yup, vintage Franklin. Won't be long now until someone is killed or maimed I imagine. :shakehead

Um, long time lurker with nothing to say. I check a couple of sites for rumors, gossip, and occasional insight.
Me: Got hooked on CART long ago at my first visit to Road America. Attended most up until they left. Continue to have tix in J for USGP. I enjoy any class of racing on 2 or 4 wheels on road courses, street courses or dirt (!) ovals. Not a big fan of paved ovals, but I appreciate the talent required, especially combined with the diversity of tracks that CART used to run. Loved Indy though, right up through 95.
Stupidest thing I ever read in a racing forum (paraphrasing): 'Thank God TG formed the IRL and saved big-time ow in the US, otherwise it would be dead.' That always left me speechless, and makes me think the writer is a paid shill or refuses to (or can't) live in reality.
As for Franklin, I was never quite certain if he was for real. Saw a reference to him here (http://www.jalopnik.com/) and couldn't believe it. Thought some of you might enjoy a laugh.
Back to lurking.
That boy just ain't right.

Now all we need is a thread about rocket car oval racing...

Those are unproven models . . . I would enter a proven design.
