I finally took everyone's advice and installed Mozilla's Firefox. Worked nice for a few things. I left the computer on and it on for an hour or so while I did other things. Came back to about a dozen porn popups. As this has never happened to me with either the dreaded AOL or Internet Explorer.
Was there something I should have checked in preferences, or, do you think it is likely I still have some sort of virus or trojan?

It might have been something on your computer previously that reacted to Mozilla, because I have been running it for over a year and I rarely get any pop-ups of any kind with it. If the pop-ups happen more frequently out of nowhere, it is likely a trojan variant that I had the pleasure of getting this summer.

I've also been using Mozilla for quite a while, and never had any popups.
PS: Warlock! would probably like to see links to those popups. ;)

That sucks. :flame:
Half my working hours are spent trying to get rid of WinFixer as I can't afford to be without my machine while I send it to IT for cleaning... slow-moving, high-tech rednecks we got workin' for us. :shakehead
My fear is my fiance borrows my machine and gets a popup with "young %^$& taking *&$%# quadruple ^&%9*& ^$#$@!." and I get in a lot of trouble.
