OLD Thread (http://www.offcamber.net/forums/showthread.php?t=9194&page=4&pp=25)
I couldn't figure out how to "borrow" the track map from the race website. It looks like the straight between T5 and T6 has been lengthened, not by much. It also looks like T6 is going to be more of a curve than a 90 degree turn.

They also removed a turn in the 7 8 9 area. 8 and 9 might offer some passing oportunities now.
Anyone have the password for the ticket presale?

I bought 6 supertickets in Grandstand 1. I think she said something like Row 9. Hopefully 1 is at the top and they work down.
Sweet, thanks
Did you call ticketmaster? I've been trying to use the website. The website says row 1 is the top.

Yes, I ordered over the phone.
Supertickets in Grandstand 1, first three seats in row 3.

If they can maintain speed through T6, then T7 might become another passing zone.
Here's the preliminary layout for comparison:

I still think that the track could be better. Possibly after turn 4 make a right and go toward the reliant parkway. Turn left at the reliant parkway. Continue until you reach lantern point. Make a left there then another left on Murworth. Turn right on Kirby Drive. Continue until you get to Westridge where you will turn left. That's where you hook up with the current track.

It kind of concerns me that they're showing stands right where you would expect to have runoff area in the places that might present a passing opportunity like turns 2 and 5. That's probably just being fudged for the spectator map, but after San Jose, who knows. :/

With the pedistrian bridges shown going over Kirby, I assume they can't close down Kirby.

I would shoot for the turn 2 grandstand if you want to see any passing. I think that is the only place they'll be able to get it done. the track is too short for 5 and 7, imo.

If I remember correctly Kirby has one hell of a crown and is divided with a grass esplanade.

Those fantastically fun jumping champ cars from San Jose could do that. :gomer:

Be happy, old age hasn't destroyed your memory yet :)
And those backstreets that pass through the Texans' lots and practice field bubble aren't exactly top quality either...
