In

On another note, I brewed an ale that will be ready to go for the weekend.. Yet one more reason to find the Pirate Truck II :D
There will probably be a Friday "noon" meet at the usual spot if anyone else is interested.

I just got off the phone with the Sales Manager of the Marina Hotel in San Pedro. She said they still have rooms available for $139 a night for the Grand Prix weekend. If anyone is looking, it's a lovely location. Used to part of the Hilton Garden brand until Hilton gave up having lowrise hotel properties. www.marinahotelsp.com 866-397-3376
Website says they've just had a renovation. Sales Manager said they are scheduled to start another so............. ??

Well, due to the slings and arrows of everyday life, I don't need a hotel room if I choose to stay in the area.
I have "carte blanche" to use the family condo in Torrance if I need to. :(

I would like to make the reservation as soon as possible, so if you are up for a stint in a kart let me know ASAP.

BMEP and I are ready for the season to start, even if we can't join you California folks!
...and you can't join us because:
A) California is already too crowded for 2 more people to visit,
B) You might thaw out too quickly and become mushy,
C) You can't come up with a lame excuse of your own,
D) We haven't made you feel bad enough yet.
Which is it? :p

Thanks for the enthusiasm, Fitti Fan, but like CARTNUT, I'm waiting for an explanation [tapping foot].
Hey Andrew Longman, are you and Trevor going to join us?

Come on, Nicole. You know better than that. Don't you know that any state between the coasts is just "fly over country" for the elites to look down upon as they fly from NY to LA? There's nothing here in our part of the country but a few Champ Car races, great race tracks for other road racing series, a Formula One race, great dirt and short trackin' ovals for the midgets and sprints, and corn. Lots of corn. :D

Or "E" I'm in the middle of school and can't leave until break. If only San Jose wasn't smack dab in the middle of freaking 100 degree temperatures--and Anaya knows how I feel about that!
Dangme! But still working on getting our rear ends back to Cali someday.

The time has arrived!  Gonna head out this afternoon and check out the Thursday scene in Long Beach.
I'll be at the Friday noon get-together at the newsstands in fron of the convention center, then working the autograph session with the CCIC. Possible appearance with Apex the Cone at the karting event Fri. night (if I can figure out the logistics of getting Apex back into the track).
Saturday Mr. Anteater and I will be working the CCIC Membership Registration tent on the concourse outside the convention center (unless we're inside working the photo booth). Then there's the CCIC dinner from 6:00-8:00.
Sunday--who knows? We'll be all over the place.
SEE YA!!!!

Just booked 3 rooms for April 2007 at this hotel. All of the LB hotels are booked except very high priced ones or ones in high crime areas. This is now a Double Tree. $149/night for 2 double beds.
