What that means for the uninitiated is the refs sub-conciously favored the home team. The first Steeler TD was'nt a TD. The "holding" call was'nt a holding call. Total ********. Just one very long ad to sell crap to a nation of overeating, drunken morons.

The officials didn't give up a 75-yard touchdown run.

The officials didn't give up a 43-yard reverse/wide receiver pass.

The officials didn't give up a long pass on third-and-23 that gave the Steelers first-and-goal and set up the first touchdown.

The officials didn't p!$$ away valuable seconds at the end of the half and the end of the game.

The officials didn't miss two field goals.

Nope. But a mysterious holding call in the 2nd half stopped the go ahead drive, the silly blocking call after the INT put the Steelers into position to for the Els' TD pass, and I, too, can go on. However, as I indicated in the other thread (the picks thread), the 'hags failed to take advantage of field position, etc. in the first half. They should have dominated the game after the Q1 alone.

Congrats, Steelers. Now make way for the Bengals. :)

The officials did allow a BS TD with Ben laying on the ground reaching for the end zone.

The officials somehow called phantom holding penalties against Seattle.

The officials did call a penalty on Matt for making a clean tackle.

The officials did not call a penalty on Big Ben for illegally blocking below the waste immediately after the penalty on Matt was called.

The officials did not call a penalty when the Steelers didnt call timeout before the play clock hit 0.

The officials did not call the Steelers offsides when they clearly were.

The officials called a penalty against Seattle on the TD pass to start the game because both the defender and wide receiver were hitting each others arms.

Oh and apparently Horse Collar tackles are now allowed.

The referees have been terrible the entire post season and tonight was no different. Seattle played bad, Pittsburgh played mediocre, and the officiating was disgraceful.

Pardon me for expecting them to do a good job. I mean, they do get paid to do this crap. Its not volunteer work. Referees should never be a story after the game, but it looks like the NFL is taking the NBA's model of trying to make a story out of the Zebras.

And this was a so-called "All Star" crew. :saywhat: :shakehead

I wonder what the LJ was calling when he raced in during Ben's 'TD'? He definitely did not have a TD called until he got close, and by then Ben had crawled past the goal line after being downed. If that was the basis of the call, which it appeared to be, then it should have been overturned.

I also expected a horse collar tackle to be called on Porter in the 4th Q.

Officials are going to make mistakes. Sorry, but that's the price of being human. The secret, as a team in any sport, is to make the plays that keep the officials from deciding the game. Pittsburgh did that against the Colts when the replay official took an obvious fumble recovery away from them, a call that could have cost them the game. Pittsburgh made plays when they had to on Sunday. If Seattle would have made a play or two, instead of bitching about the officials, they very well could have the game. If they're looking for someone to blame, they should look in the mirror.

There were pods of local commercials that ran End Q1, End Q2, Beginning Q3, End Q3, Within Q4, and End Q4. If the Mindy commercial ran during those times, then you're right, and it probably was local only.

I liked the FedEx caveman, the Hummer3, and the Clydesdales commercials.

The data is not personally identified. They know how many people replayed when but not who. If you don't like that you can opt out entirely and they gather no data. Last I checked there was no DVR company with a stronger, clearer privacy policy than TiVo.

I like voting with my remote. Skip the stuff the sucks, replay the stuff that rules.

Super Bowl is an excuse for a Party

I've had one every year since 1986 ... attendance varies between 15 & 30 people ... Last year because the Eagles were in the SuperBowl, I had 30 people ... this year about 20

Wives come also and Older Kids seem to enjoy the event ( I make the Food, All HomeMade, My Roast Beef sandwiches are especially popular, yeah I'm Braggin ;) )

Some come for the Game, Some for the Food & Beer, Some just to hang out

I Have 2 Rooms going with High Definition 55" in the Media Room, 32" Plasma in the Office !

about 50% of the people are into the game but if it sucks, they hang around the Keg

I think the ratings reflect the "Event" more than the teams playing, however I think everyone expected a competetive game this year, and it was funny haow much the "Referee Calls" would get people in front of the TV, and arguing about it !

I'm too busy "Hosting" to get to spend much time watching, but I try !
