Foytility causes a red flag! :D
Though I think we can blame John Menard's son for this one...
Caution #3 for a crash that takes out A.J. Foyt. Carl Edwards done for the day.

Yeah, it wasn't AJ's fault. Too bad his day was ruined.

What a canned response...as though his acting experience on Dukes of Hazzard gave him the werewithal to memorize a few lines on what to vaguely say in case he got into another accident of his own volition...
You talking about Menard?
Paul was right there on that last accident. In fact, it looked liked in avoiding the accident he passed another car under the yellow line. I guess we'll see.

You talking about Menard?
No, IV...I don't think Menard has ANY acting experience.
And wanna bet the frequently-wrecking, frequently-fired Leffler winds up pointing the finger at Tracy?

He'd make an easy scapegoat being not only a rookie, but an openwheeler too. It looked like he didn't have anything to do with it from the quick glimpse I got.
Does Paul have a team car? I just saw one that looked strikingly similar to his.

John Andretti  :flame:
Hopefully Paul can still finish the race. I'm not happy with Andretti.
We all know how fond Tracy is of drivers named Andretti.
Andretti listed in 10th place. Scumbag.

I assume you're talking about Kahne's Ragu-sponsored #9.
The #34 is still a one-car team these days, I believe.

The NASCAR Channel - er, I mean SPEED. It was a short piece. PT said he "had a lot of fun out there." He did mention John Andretti by name, but didn't seem overly upset. As rabbit mentioned, he also has some experience in the turn-around business.

Was it on Speed News or some other program? I'm just wondering if I'll get to see it later tonight.

A bunch of them related to tire problems. They can go 50 laps on gas but only 29 on tires. How messed up is that?
In part that's because so many new teams needed agreesive set ups just to make the race (lack of owner points, etc.) and then NASCAR impounds the cars until the race so they have to wait for the first pit stop to make the cars racable. Brilliant move NASCAR.
But that only explains the early tire failures. It looks like Goodyear still hasn't solved all the tire problems of last year. If the the crew chiefs insist on running the tire with too little air then make a nearly solid rubber tire that runs of 3 pounds of air. Either that or insist NASCAR enforce a minimum pressure rule.
Its not like Goodyear is competing with anyone on the track but they are not giving people a lot of reasons to buy their tires off the track

240 million people in the US. Half are rednecks. And RedNecks that make more money than in the history of the country. NASCAR has a built in, perpetual income. And it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. And it's getting more difficult to say anything against the almighty RedNeck Juggernaught cuz everyone knows who JR is, eight out of ten soccor moms have a decal of an 8 next to the decal of a soccor ball on their minivan. :gomer:
It used to be easy to hate NASCAR.
"Oh, you like racing, who's your driver JR or Stewert?" :saywhat:
And you know what? I blame Tony George.

With a completely straight face, I'd tell them Jackie, because I was never particularly fond of Rutherford.
The morning paper here has PT finishing in 24th place.

I liked JR when I first started following champ car in the 60s. But by the mid 80s he came off as bitter -- hanging on too long, whining a lot about not attracting a good sponsorship, or getting a good ride. He should have retired before the Vermont American Tools seasons.

Apparently, I read that it took them over an hour to figure out the final standings..... Had to use videotape.
You know what would have been another black eye for the sport? As everyone not in the top 3 spots are crashing over the finish line, the winning pit crews jump over the wall to celebrate... as sliding and crashing cars and other cars avoiding the big one come rushing down pit lane at full tilt...... :shakehead

Too bad, he was running really well in the first laps, he could have had a top 10 finish or better in his first go at it.
