View Full Version : OK, Franck, What's It Gonna Be
SPEED/Autosport says Gentilozzi has made Montagny an offer and they are in negotiations. PG then says Pizzonia and Bernaldi are also in the mix as 2nd drivers or backups if Montagny decides to be a "3rd" F-1 driver. He has to decide if "his heart is in ChampCar" to quote PG, which probably means "if you want to give up on your F-1 dreams and actually race for less money, just sign on the dotted line." Headstart on '07 has to be a factor I'd think.

GP2006.com can exclusively confirm that former Renault test and development driver, Franck Montagny has signed with the new Super Aguri Formula One team as their third driver for the opening two rounds of the 2006 season, Bahrain and Malaysia.
and
Franck won’t be taking part in the third fly away event, Melbourne Park Australia, as he may need to make himself available for further ChampCar tests with an eye to a full time race seat in 2006 with two teams currently having the Frenchman firmly in their sights.
Apparently, ChampCar is still on the table.
And Super Aguri doesn't even have a car for him...he's just there in case somebody gets sick, I guess.

Or if Yuji Ide comprehensively sucks.
Ahem, if?!
Yeah, I guess that should have been, if he sucks bad enough to get dropped before they originally intended to drop him. (Imola)
