This should be an entertaining year. OMG, Todd Bodine? Who's he gonna take out first? And can we heckle Patrick Dempsey for propping up Vision Racing?

Penske owns Longo Toyota.
Another sign that unification is nigh. :gomer:
Sabato jr should be in the pros, he did some skip barber racing among other things.

Of course. Its a shame that such pretty has to be wasted on the IRL.

Two NASCAR drivers? What's up with that?
Clint Dempsey is the cool Dempsey.
William Shatner
Does the race ever make it on TV?
They used to run a celebrity race during the Des Moines Grand Prix. It was usually a hoot and one of the more popular events.

It has eventually shown up on Speed, usually looooong after the race weekend.
Shannon Miller the gymnast? Is she old enough to drive yet? ;)

Look at what kind of trucks that they race.
NASCAR drivers are celebrities in these here United States.
Even 3rd tier NASCAR drivers.

Sabato did the Melbourne f1gp celeb race (last year or the year before?),he did alright until he was punted into the wall.Hit the wall pretty hard but was OK.
Why the NASCAR drivers, not enough hasbeen celebrities in LA?
I thought they had people who couldn't drive very well? Oh hang on,Nascar drivers, makes sense now.

Exactly. And it's a free weekend schedule-wise for CTS.
I'm surprised Lester didn't get a nod given 1) the diversity issue this race always likes to play up and 2) he has more solid road course experience than all the current Toyota CTS drivers combined.
Anyone know why only two females (assuming you count Martina as female and Bo as male :gomer: ), which must be an all-time low?
As one of our mutual friends put it, "I predict a dramatic death race between Thom, William Shatner, and the guy from Pimp My Ride." I personally think he stands a legit chance of beating up on all of them with the possible exception of Dempsey and Muniz.

This year it's supposed to move to E! and be broadcast the following week.

Well, that makes sense, it isn't like it is a cab race

I'd hope they'd get Entertainment Tonight to give the celebs some face time.

I'd hope they'd get Entertainment Tonight to give the celebs some face time.
ET usually does a short segment, but they'd never devote an entire 30-minute (w/commercials) time slot to an event that lasts 30 minutes itself.
Besides, I'd retch if I was within a thousand feet of Cojo, who I regard in nearly the same vein of utter distaste as TG.
There will be plenty of entertainment industry paparazzi there, like the ones I saw in action regarding L'il Kim in '04, and they are much more physically aggressive than any fellow motorsports shooter I've ever been surrounded by. I'm not going to waste my time with anyone they fawn over in that fashion.

For about 20 years. I certainly hope something happens before their ownership achieves another decade.
