The team of Beekhuis and Steele will cover Pit Lane from front to back, getting all the latest strategies from the key decision makers as the race unfolds. Beekhuis, a four-year veteran of the Champ Car battlegrounds and a 14-year veteran of Champ Car telecasts, returns pitside and will use his skills to help viewers better understand exactly what it takes to win a race in the ultra-competitive Champ Car World Series. Steele may be new to Champ Car but is no novice in the racing world, having competed in the grueling Baja 1000 as well as many other off-road races. He also has considerable motorsports broadcast experience with various networks.

I'm okay with Benjamin. Daly I like if he doesn't talk much. Don't know anything about Steele. I couldn't be happier to see Beekhuis back, though.
Pre-season grade: B-
Benjamin is one of the better play by play guys in the business. I'd prefer Kendall to DD, DD wears pretty thin in my book. And, of course, Jon is the man.
Cameron Steele is an interesting addition.
When Supercross was on ESPN/ESPN2, the broadcast team was Todd Harris and Cameron Steele, with Jamie Little in the pits. Cameron was the best of that bunch, for sure. (Of course, his background was supercross, while the other two were just trying to look/sound good and get a promotion.)

I really didn't like that guy.

Hmm. A Todd Harris connection. Maybe he's going to handle Legge updates.
The rest of the crew is good. Great to have Beakus back. Benjamen/Daly seem to work well together and it's good to have a consistant team.

Geez, we must be channeling each other's thoughts. (cf: Vasser).
I think this is as good a team as they could put together, given who is available, etc. For one thing, I am glad there is someone NEW.
But IMHO no one beats the Varsha/TK team when they get rollin' on the rivah !!

Still with the Daly? Really? *sigh*
My wish is they do about 10X more "Full Throttle." It isn't radio afterall and they've had about 40 years to get it right. Why we need a detailed CONSTANT description of what we are seeing ourselves I'll never understand. The sound of racing is one of it's greatest attractions and it is relegated to background or even heavily muted so we can "learn" from the broadcast crew. The only thing as good is Jon and his easily understood explanations and commentary.

Benjamin should know what he's looking at by this season... I hope anyway. Daly is grating and he makes a lot of bad calls, both of which argue against him being good at his job. Beekhuis is top drawer and about Steele we will see. I'm hoping he's not a Todd Harris knockoff.

I'm hoping he's not a Todd Harris knockoff.
And if he appears to be, just thank God that he won't have as much time to talk as Harris had.

That's a porn actor's name if I ever heard one.

Daly and Beekhuis should change spots. It could happen by mid-season.
If you want to see Steele in action, look for Lucas Oil On The Edge on SPEED. Cameron is the "pit reporter" for the San Jose Drifting episode.
He's the best member of the broadcast crew, although that says more about the other two than it does about him.
